The Mortgage Process — What to Expect
Every mortgage journey is unique, but the process doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. My role is to guide you through each step helping you feel confident in what's next.
Here's an outline of what to expect:
1. Initial Consultation
We begin with a conversation. This is where I learn about your goals, timeline, financial picture, and any questions you may have. Whether you’re ready to move forward or simply exploring, this step is about understanding your options.
2. Strategy & Pre-Approval
Based on your situation, I’ll review lender options and structure a mortgage strategy tailored to you. If you’re purchasing, we’ll secure a pre-approval so you can shop with confidence, knowing your budget and terms are clearly defined.
3. Application & Documentation
Once you’ve found a property (or are ready to refinance or renew), we complete the formal application. I’ll guide you through the documentation required and keep you informed at every stage.
4. Lender Review & Approval
I submit your file to the lender best suited to your needs. During this stage, I stay in close communication, proactively managing any conditions and ensuring the process moves forward smoothly.
5. Final Approval & Signing
Once approved, we review your mortgage commitment together so you fully understand the terms and structure. You’ll then meet with a lawyer or notary to finalize and sign the documents.
6. Closing & Beyond
After closing, you receive your keys or your refinance completes — but our relationship doesn’t end there. I remain available for questions, renewals, future planning, or simply to revisit your strategy as life evolves.
You should never feel uncertain about your mortgage. My role is to ensure you understand each step, its impact, and what comes next.
